Tottenham 4 Southampton 2 – Teddy Double Eases Spurs Clear of Danger

Teddy Sheringham eased Spurs away from the Premier League danger zone with two quickfire goals after almost an hour of mediocre football. Sheringham struck twice for the third time in four outings as Spurs cracked four goals in an incredible four minutes 48 seconds to take control after falling behind to Ian Dowie’s first-half opener.

Leeds United 0 Manchester United – Cantona fires blank as Manchester United drop points

Paul Wilkinson had asked Leeds fans to trust his judgment of selling Cantona and for that night it was proven right. The French striker was pretty ineffective in a game where not many clear cut chances were created. And if these two points dropped would end up costing Manchester United, it would go a long way in making the Leeds coach popular at Elland Road once again.

QPR 1 Ipswich Town 1 – A point not enough for both European Spot Chasing Teams

Three points would have taken Ipswich to just 3 points behind the third-place whereas QPR with all three would have gone in fourth place themselves. But in the end, a point was all both the teams got in a game where not many chances were created. Only the last ten minutes of the game saw both teams going all out and creating clear cut chances.
