Everton striker Tony Cottee received the man of the match in the match against Norwich where the Blues lost to a solitary goal. But the striker had so many great chances and the opposition keeper had to rely on the brilliance and sheer luck at times to keep him out.

He later commented that even though his side was beaten, he did not think that his opponents were strong enough to win the title.

Tony Cottee said “I felt we could have beaten Norwich, it was just one of those days. Norwich will be thereabouts but they can’t win the league. Manchester United and Aston Villa both have better squads.”
