Danish international Henrik Larsen had joined Aston Villa for a one-week trial and the £1 million rated midfielder from the Italian Club Pisa could join the midlands side on a loan till the end of the season before making his move permanent. Villa manager Ron Atkinson explained the one week trial, “Larsen hasn’t had much football lately and I don’t want someone who does not match fit. I want someone who can go straight into the first team and Pisa had agreed to let us have a look at him before we commit ourselves.”
