In a surprising report on the gate admissions across all levels of professional football in England, it was found that compared to the previous season premiere league attendances were down, by five per cent. In divisions one and two they were up around four and 15 per cent respectively. The reason was that football leagues had frozen the ticket prices whereas premier league had increased it significantly.
