Mick Quinn was set to be a Coventry Player before his one month loan from Newcastle United ended in a week’s time. Coventry manager Bobby Gould opened transfer talks with the 30-year-old striker who contributed the premier league’s hottest goal-scoring streak at Southampton, where two goals in the 2-2 Dell draw brought his total to six in four matches for the sky blues. Gould, aware that Quinn was a player who can capitalize on the exciting skills of young Zimabweian Peter Ndlovu, agreed a £250000 fee with Newcastle Manager Kevin Keegan.
