Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson hailed new England midfielder Paul Ince as a future captain of the club. The former West Ham player had really come into his own that season and Ferguson was delighted at the improvement in his overall play. He had finally started to settle into the side after a very controversial move from a lower league. Ince was pictured in a Manchester United kit at the Old Trafford long before his deal was signed with the North West club and after a newspaper leaked the pictures he received a lot of criticism from West Ham fans for being “disloyal” to the club.
